In 2010, N-Y Associates was hired by the LeBon brothers to renovate two historic properties in the Vieux Carré that have been in their family for over a hundred years. 809-11 Royal Street consists of two commercial units on the first floor and three residential units on the second floor. We worked closely with the municipal, state and federal government associations to ensure that our design did not interfere with the fabric of this historic neighborhood and put together documents to obtain historic preservation tax credits. The design was approved by the Vieux Carré Commission and is currently under construction. The other projects shown are: the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts for which I designed the signage and selected furnishings; interior finish selection for the OBrian Firehouse; and restroom renovations at the historic Sophie Wright School.
