The Community Pool was the final project in the third year studio course of the BA Architecture program. The building site is located in between a lake and a sinkhole at Carondolet Park in South St. Louis. The pool deck faces the sinkhole while the athletic room faces the lake. I chose to honor the sinkhole because it is a recurring feature through the park. The roof gesture responds to the undulating landscape created by the sinkholes.
